How it all started?
In mid-2024, Sahil and Yuan found themselves discussing the painful experience of refinancing a mortgage. The hoops people had to jump through, the paperwork, and the frustration—it was clear that the process was painful. Having worked in the fintech industry for over a decade, both of them immediately recognised the opportunity for improvement.
They realised that the mortgage experience, both for brokers and consumers, didn’t have to be this complicated or stressful. There was a better way, a way that could ease the burden and bring efficiency to the entire process. With this in mind, Sahil and Yuan set out to craft a solution that would positively impact the home mortgage market, streamlining the process and delivering value to everyone involved.
That’s how AffordX was born—out of a shared vision to revolutionise the mortgage application experience, making it simpler, faster, and more transparent for all.

We believe that securing a mortgage should be a seamless and empowering experience. We are committed to working closely with brokers to better assess and improve a person’s affordability for obtaining a mortgage. For many, especially first-time homebuyers, getting a mortgage is an overwhelming and mysterious X factor.
Our vision is to create a platform that not only simplifies the mortgage process but also guides people with clarity and confidence, helping them afford the homes they dream of. By collaborating with brokers, we aim to remove the stress and uncertainty, making home ownership more accessible to everyone.

Yuan brings a wealth of product and project management expertise to the team. Yuan has held various product and project management roles in different industries including Fintech, utilities, manufacturing and local government.

With more than 15 year of experience in the software engineering industry, Sahil is an expert in developing and implementing innovative technology solutions. As our CTO, Sahil is responsible for leading the company's research and development efforts, ensuring that we stay ahead of the curve and provide our clients with the most performing and future-proof solutions.
